Guild Hall The Garden as Art Tour

gh

Designed by Elizabeth Lear, this petite garden surrounds a circa 1770 Colonial style house right on Main Street. When Elizabeth Lear bought the house with her husband, in the 1980s, one could hardly see it or the property through the thick overgrowth of vines. It has now been lovingly restored, down to the picket fence in front that is a replica of the original. Tiered pots frame the doorway of the house, and an inviting brick path on the side, lined with pollarded redbud trees, leads to the back. In the open grassy area furthest back, sculpture courtesy of Eric Firestone Gallery is often displayed.
